Going Back to the Gym During a Pandemic

From casual gym goers to dedicated athletes, we’ve all been missing our usual workout routines. Some of us were still grinding through our New Year’s resolution, and others were in the middle of our six day a week workout schedule, when the gyms were closed. While safety has been the number one priority these past few months, we are all looking forward to getting back to life as close to normal as possible. As gyms and other athletic facilities begin to reopen, we all must remember to take proper precautions. Facility staff will ensure that everything is sanitized and the guidelines in place are being followed, but every individual is still responsible for their own safety and protecting those around them.

According to a 2017 study, gym equipment can have up to 362 times more bacteria than a toilet seat. FitRated breaks down the different types of bacteria that can be found on gym equipment. They compare the amount of germs found on plastic reusable lunch trays, water faucets, and yes, toilet seats, and gym equipment outranks them all. The purpose of this study, however, is not to frighten gym goers, rather it promotes cleanliness as a key part of your gym routine. Be sure to disinfect machines before and after you use them, do not touch your face, wash your hands, and change out of your gym clothes right after you work out.

Game Face’s Antibacterial Warrior Wipes are FDA approved and kill 99.9% of germs and bacteria. The Warrior Wipes are infused with aloe vera to soothe and hydrate skin. These can be paired with the cleansing wipes that use the antioxidants in white tea extract to help protect skin.
